Bassenthwaite Sailing Club

Bassenthwaite Sailing Club is a members-only club, situated just 100 yards from Lakeside Country Guest House.

Members of the RYA or RYA affiliated clubs are invited to use their facilities and launch from their grounds at a cost of £10pd. Boats are limited to 20' overall length & may not have cabins.

Cockermouth Golf Course

Situated above the small village of Embleton off the A66 a mile or so from Bassenthwaite Lake.

An 18 hole, fellside course (Par 69) has unrivalled views of the surrounding Lakeland Fells and Solway Firth. Facilities include full bar and catering service and games room. Smart casual dress. Advance booking is recommended. Tel: 017687 76223

Bassenthwaite Lake is a popular choice for weddings and nearby Armathwaite Hall Hotel offers a popular wedding venue.

At Lakeside we are able to offer excellent accommodation for up to 17 of your wedding guests at affordable prices. We are just a 5 minute drive from Armathwaite Hall. Why not book all 8 rooms from just £32.50pp.

We can also arrange taxis and mini buses.

Fishing & Fishing Permits

Permits are available to fish Bassenthwaite Lake which is two minutes from Lakeside Country Guest House. These are available locally from the Pheasant Inn.

Salmon, pike, perch, trout and sea trout, to name but a few, are regularly caught in the area.
